A bit about your Editor
Laurie Schickler then…
and now…
(Haven’t changed a bit, right?)
After graduation, I enlisted in the Air Force and served as a Paralegal, stationed in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Yuba City CA and Denver CO. After 7 years active duty, I returned to Rochester and worked in Employee Benefits/Human Resources at the Rochester Institute of Technology and National Technical Institute for the Deaf. My job was to communicate the value of the benefits programs the college provided to 2500 faculty and staff.
In 1993 after one of those “life changing experiences”, the kids and I moved to Colorado. I worked as a Career Coach, then a Sales and Service Team Manager for Current Inc. In 1997, I left the corporate world and started a small business, Pinehurst Press Ltd. Communication Strategies. I help clients through communication, career and business coaching, training, keynote speaking and facilitation.
I’m happy to say my “kids” have grown into three great young adults. We love living in Colorado but definitely miss all our Rochester friends and family!
Please let me know if you plan to travel to Colorado and would like to reconnect with the Schickler gang. We’ll have a party in your honor!
All my best, Laura
