Class of 1974: There will be a 35 Year Reunion for the Class of 1974. It will be Saturday Sept 5, 2009 at the Barnard Exempts Club, right up the street from our old high school. Just like the Class of 73, we’re trying to get updated locations on classmates. Can you add a message for all ‘74 classmates to email mooney74@rochester.rr.com with their current email & snail mail addresses, along with contact information on anyone they keep in contact with? Dear Joann,
I tried very hard to reach you in January 2005. I wanted you to know how much my Mother really enjoyed your friendship and most especially your writings and letters in her last year. She had a beautiful funeral at Incarnation Church in Sarasota where my Dad also had his service and my baby sister Kristin was married in May of 2001. Most recently my sister Mari’s son was married on June 7,2008.
The remarkable thing is just 4 years ago Mikey(27)Tucci and Mom (Grandma Koerner) were going to chemo and radiation together! Mikey has Hodgkins Lymphoma and we know Mom is his Guardian Angel. Also one month after Mom died , Kristin gave birth to a baby girl (Kiley Celeste). She was the first girl in 24 years for our family! ” Little Casey”, Kris’ son just turned 6 in July and was Mom’s pride and joy. She also saw my 3 grandsons Trevor 10, Maxwell 8, and Wesley 5.
They talk about GiGi (great -grandma) often and yesterday little Wesley wanted to know” if GiGi would bring herself down here to see us again?”

Thank you for writing about your mother, Joanne Koerner. I am sure a whole generation of Mooney students remember her fondly, as do I. Joanne was head of the English department and the most colorful, intelligent, and delightful person! How many hours we spent talking in her tiny office, always finding something to laugh at and something interesting to think about. It is sad that she is no longer with us. I know she was very proud of her daughters and her grandchildren. Of course she is “guardian angel” to you all.
